Light Switch Controlled Outlet Not Working
I have accounted for all other outlets and switches in the room.
Light switch controlled outlet not working. The other switch may be for an outlet in the room. None of the wires coming from the ceiling for the light the switch and the outlet are not reading hot. Half of the receptacle will be controlled by the switch while the other will be always on. If this is the case you will not be able to control the light and fan separately except with a remote control.
The old recepticle had 8 holes 4 on each side and the four on each side are paired off into top and bottom pairs. I can not find where the non working outlet and switch are feeding from. Sometimes an outlet is set to a switch so you can connect a lamp and control it from a wall switch. Removing this piece means that only one of the receptacles will be powered by the light switch leaving the other receptacle always on for other devices.
Changing out receptacle that is controlled by a light switch. Light switch and outlet not working. Believe it or not there are a number of easy diy means by which a homeowner can solve the mystery of an electrical outlet that s not working. A couple other notes about your wiring.
There are no screws except for a green grounding screw. I have even checked the adjacent room for a feed no luck. Having trouble with a half hot switch. If not then the light switch will simply turn off the whole outlet as well as the entire circuit following that outlet.
