Thanks for all replies x. Of these three explanations i m inclined to believe the third one. In this way it s totally fine to have high voltage values and low current in power lines. So it depends on the application if it is easier to generate a higher current or a higher voltage and you have to choose the resistor accordingly.
The power line has fairly low resistivity so the total resistance is low and so low voltage drop and low resistance yield low current in accordance to ohm s law. The smaller the diameter the higher the resistance. The first equation suggests that a higher resistance would be better while the second shows that a lower resistance would be better. The circuit with the higher resistance will allow less charge to flow meaning the circuit with higher resistance has less current flowing through it.
